The renovation of N3 Contemporary Art utilizes an independent steel frame structural system, distinct from the original factory building. By separating the new structure from the old, the project preserves the spatial character and structural design of the 1970s factory, while introducing a clear sense of order in the new construction. This creates a dialogue between the purity of the art space and the historical essence of the building. Additionally, staircases and varying platform heights are integrated into the structure, allowing for the thoughtful placement of VIP reception areas, dining rooms, offices, restrooms, storage, and more. The balanced framing system also provides the gallery with an open, flexible space for future exhibitions.
